Abaqus, Inc., a provider of the first-of-a-kind allGeo cloud-hosted location and messaging platform, has added a location-tagged Quick Response (QR) code scanner feature to its mobile app for more powerful and precise mobile time-clocking and job status updates for employees working inside buildings or dense built-up areas, and for both static and roving security staff.

A QR code can be used to store the identity of a mobile employee; the geo-coordinates of a building or facility, including details such as floor number and unit number; or a specific security patrol point. The allGeo app can be set-up by an administrator to automatically monitor an employee’s location, and as they enter various parts of a job site the employee can simply scan a QR placed on site to create a very precise attendance record & attendance stamp inside building, floor, or suite. It can also trigger additional workflow actions and alerts to meet company needs, such as sending an alert to a manager when a specific QR code is scanned, or an exception alert when a particular assignment is not completed within a specified time.
